Kalie Hall, a memeber of the Franklin Co. FFA Chapter, was the top individual in the Livestock Evaluation Career Development Event. Her advisors are Mr. Gary Minyard, Mr. Cale Watkins, and Mr. Owen Thomason. |

Georgia FFA was recognized as the state association with the largest membership growth in 2008-2009 with an increase of over 1400 members, which marks 11 consecutive years of increased membership. |

Eight Georgians were awarded the Honorary American FFA Degree for their contributions and support of agricultural education and the FFA. Recipients include (left to right): Mr. Conrad Davidson (Waycross), Mr. David Turner (Commerce), Mr. Bill Waldrep (Forsyth), Mr. Jack Barnes (Jasper), Dr. David Bridges (Tifton), Mr. Rodney Kellum (Swainsboro), Mrs. Gale Cutler (Tucker), and State Senator Jack Hill (Reidsville - not pictured).

Seventy-one Georgia FFA members received the prestigious American FFA Degree, the highest degree offered to an active FFA member. These students each spent several years developing and growing their Supervised Agricultural Experience programs to reach this honor.

Twenty-three Georgia FFA chapters received a national 3-star ranking, the highest ranking offered in the National Chapter Award program. Three chapters earned a national 2-star ranking. The Lowndes County FFA Chapter was named a National Finalist in the Models of Innovation program for their creative work in Student Development.

Regina Holliday, a member of the East Laurens FFA Chapter, completed her year of service as the 2008-2009 Southern Region National FFA Vice-President at the convention. She presided over the 2nd general session and presented her retiring address entitled, "Something That Matters." Regina awarded the Honorary American Degree to her parents and recognized her agricultural education teachers and state staff for their support of her FFA career. |
