Discovery ConferenceThe Discovery Conference is designed for middle school FFA members. Students begin developing their leadership skills and discover the opportunities available to them through the FFA. The 2009 Discovery Conference will be held December 4-5 at the FFA-FCCLA Center in Covington.
Chapter Officer Leadership TrainingThe 2009 state-wide COLT Conference was held July 21-23 at the Georgia FFA-FCCLA Center near Covington. Twenty chapter officer teams gathered at the conference to learn what it means to be an officer and gain skills in professionalism, public speaking, parliamentary procedure, and teamwork. Students also attended sessions to gain ideas on fundrasing, public relations, and recruitment. Congratulations to these students and chapters for winning awards at the COLT banquet! Washington Leadership ConferenceOn June 22-28, 2009, a group of 35 FFA members and advisors traveled to Washington, D.C. for Washington Leadership Conference. The students became authentic leaders through knowing their purpose, valuing people, taking action, and serving others. The group also got tour our nation's capitol, participate in a community service project, and meet with U.S. Senators and Representatives from Georgia.
