What's New?

Here's a brief overview of a few things that have changed for 2009:

Spirit Team of the Week

Each team will nominate another team that displays the ideals of teamwork, sportsmanship, and team spirit throughout the week of camp. The Spirit Team of the Week will be recognized at the awards assembly.

Scholarship Letter:

Included in the forms for advisors is a draft letter for you to edit and send to potential sponsors in your community to solicit scholarships for SLC. Sponsors need to give the funds to your chapter directly, not the Georgia FFA-FCCLA Center.

Changes to Forms:

We have made major changes to all of the Registration Forms, so be sure to use the new versions on this CD or on the Web site (www.GeorgiaSLC.org).

New deadline for Final Registration Roster:

The Final Registration Roster is due on the Thursday before your week of camp. In the past it was due on the Monday of your week of camp. This change was necessary in planning cabins and other preparation for your week of camp.

No Pre-Registration:

We have eliminated the Pre-Registration process this year becuase it was confusing to many people. This year we will likely email you to get a general idea of what week you are coming.

Price:

We did NOT increase the price for campers and advisors, but we did increase the price for advisor children.

Camp Overview:

We added a fairly complete summary of SLC on the CD. We hope this will be a good tool for first time advisors and a good refresher for the pros.

Advisor What to Bring:

This is another tool we have added to help advisors feel more prepared when they come to camp. It is located in the Forms section.

Camp Policy Change:

We have added the Camper Dismissal Policy in the rules for camp so that every camper is aware of the potential consequences of breaking the rules.

New Email and Web Site:

We actually had these last spring, but we want to make sure everyone is aware of it. The camp email is now Gaffacamp@GaAgEd.org, and you can access the Summer Camp Web Site directly at www.GeorgiaSLC.org.

New Promotional Video

There is a new promotional video under Promotional Info! We also have the video on YouTube, along with the slides from last year.

Posters

There are two posters under Promotional Info that are great for posting in your classroom. They will print on standard paper OR on 11x17 paper.
