Garden Center Manager

A horticultural or garden center worker/manager is involved in a wide range of tasks. Specific tasks will depend on the type of organization they work for. They might work in amenity horticulture which is maintaining parks, gardens and green spaces within towns and cities, woodlands or sports grounds. A garden center manger may also be employed in production horticulture - producing fruit, vegetables, herbs and plants in a nursery, market garden, greenhouse or fruit farm, and supplying them to clients.

The main career involved in becoming a garden center manager is working in a garden center at a company such as Lowes, Wal-Mart, K-Mart or Home Depot or in a specialty garden center store. This is when you will be selling products including plants, flowers, tools and garden furniture, mainly to the public.
