| SAE: | Work at a pet store |
| Description: | |
|
Placement in a pet store is an excellent opportunity to care for and
learn about animals without having to purchase the supplies and equipment
necessary to raise them. Duties in the store require a great deal
of customer service, business skills, animal caretaking, and willingness
to learn. It is important to find an employment situation where
you can work together with other employees and supervisors. Duties
in the store depend on the types of animals in the store. Some
of the duties you may be required to conduct include: cleaning
kennels, cages, and pens, exercising animals, general caretaking (feeding,
washing, clipping), arranging displays, inventory, organizing items
for sale, assisting customers, running the cash register, locating information
about certain animals, and attending employee meetings. The SAE
is an ideal situation to be with animals and serve customers at the
same time.
